Rod Lawrence at artist workshop in Wyoming

My art workshops are very informal and relaxed.

The common goal is to learn more about art and enhance our own creative efforts.  That means you don't even have to be a wildlife artist to participate.  We have still life painters, landscape artists, even carvers and they work in a variety of mediums including watercolor, acrylic, pastels, colored pencil, oil and more.  Joining a group of artists for a workshop of painting and sharing is truly worthwhile.  This creative camaraderie is both inspiring and fulfilling.  I make every effort to work ONE-on-ONE as much as possible. If you have any questions about my artists workshops please don't hesitate to contact me by email, letter, or phone.

I sponsor an annual artists workshop at the end of August each year.  This workshop is held at an old log lodge facility on the banks of the Au Sable River near Grayling, Michigan, which is located in the northern part of Michigan's lower peninsula.  Click on the link below for more information about this workshop.I also do workshops in a variety of locations for other art groups and organizations.  If you know of such a group that might be interested, have them contact me for more information.

This year my annual workshop near Grayling, Michigan will be primarily focused on plein air painting. I will be returning to the SKB Workshop in Wyoming this year as a guest instructor. There is a seperate link for the SKB workshop. The SKB Artist Rendevous & Workshop is really something special - check it out!

The WORKSHOP NEWSLETTER is available as a PDF file whihch can be read or downloaded by clicking on the link below.  The workshop dates are posted on this website prior to the mailing of the newsletter. The date for accepting registrations and deposits will begin on February 1st of each year.  A $50.00 deposit is required for registration & to reserve your space.  Sometimes these workshop fill quickly. (registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.) A link for the annual workshop registration form is below.
